Why doesn't my Key work when registering version 2012?

I purchased and licensed a recent version of WIC 2.XX some months ago. After I downloaded and installed 2012 I attempted to register the new version with my original key but he key does not work. Yet your registration info page says that the key is good for life. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Your license key is good for the lifetime of the product, which in this case is WIC 2.x. Web Image Collector 2012 is a completely new and re-written product and will require a new license purchase. Therefore your license for WIC 2.x will not work with Web Image Collector 2012.
