Chapter 12. Import wizard

12.1. Import wizard

The import wizard allows you to share your image collection settings with friends. This allows other people who have Web Image Collector to send you their image collections so that you can download the same images they have. This feature will not send the images that were downloaded, rather it sends the instructions to have your Web Image Collector download the same images.

The import wizard reads XML data containing all the settings needed for an image collection. This XML data is created by using the export wizard in Web Image Collector. You can use the XML to bring in the image collection settings and begin collecting images.

12.2. What is XML?

XML is a format to structure, store and send information. An XML file is always text based and can be opened with notepad, textepad, emacs, or other text editors (and most web browsers can open and display XML files).
